Sharon was born and brought up in Christchurch, Dorset. She spent many of her earliest and most enjoyable years, with her greatest influence and inspiration, her late Grandfather Mr Victor J Myall learning her art.
Her Grandfather had realised her potential at a very early age, and had her painting her first oil by the age of five.
They spent many, very happy hours working together, she particularly remembers enjoying watching him at work at his easel.
He made sure that Sharon had a solid grounding in art, he taught her all he knew about other artists and their work and by taking her to exhibitions all over the country to further cemented this knowledge, and of course he took her to his own exhibitions too!
Sharon worked hard to become the accomplished artist she has become today and paid particular attention to working in oils, water colours and Graphite in the early years.
She later studied Graphic Design and illustration at Bournemouth and Poole College, going on to run her own well respected Graphic Design Company.
She enjoyed success as an illustrator for a well known company of the time, The Silver Crane Company. They designed novelty items such as biscuit tins, tea caddies and other such novelty shaped tea pots.
She has also had her work published on the cover of a local Dorset Magazine and to date has had her work sold all over the world.
Sharon later gave up her graphic business, to concentrate on bringing up her family. This was to include her two daughters, as well as then, going on to bring up 14 foster children over a 15 year period. But she never lost the love or the need to paint and draw and spent many hours chilling out after a hard day, working on some piece or another.
Sharon has more recently been working to her strengths as a talented artist in her own right. She has been doing private commissions in a range of mediums, from graphite pencil drawings of celebrities, animals, to street scenes in water colours or acrylics and in mixed media.
Sharon is now embarking on the next challenge in her life. She has opened Willow Studio in the picturesque village of Compton Abbas near Shaftesbury. The artist studio offer you the chance to booking workshops. You will have opportunity to relax in idealistic surrounding, and may be learn a thing or too along the way.
If you would like to know more information please feel free to contact her direct.
I use many different mediums, such as acrylics,Graphite, Watercolour and coloured pastels. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.
I enjoy nature and being in and around nature in all its form in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by nature. I love recreating plants and wildlife in my work.
I find that I spend a lot of time doing commission work and I will try and make every Dog, cat, landscape and portrait show all the life and personality of Nature.
